But too much of the Luftwaffe was being grounded too often . . .

The Belgian people were very religious . . .
There were always fresh flowers on the altars of the little roadside chapels in the middle of winter . . .

The Ardennes Forest was a portrait on white . . .
But the snow was our enemy then as it neatly covered many nazi mines and trip wires . . .

Crude wooden crosses dotted the roadsides . . .
